Outline

Your school is invited to participate in a novel system aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. If your school makes verifiable reductions in its electricity consumption, then this project will lead to your school being paid for the reduction in the carbon emissions in addition to the obvious reduction in your electricity bill. There is no charge for joining the pilot project, however your school will need to undertake a formal agreement with us.
In addition to financial benefits, your school will be part of an exciting new development at the forefront of environmental education. Rather than simply reading about climate change and international efforts to combat it, your school will participate in a real system that quantifies environmental benefits. A student of Confucius summarizes the educational benefits perfectly;

‘I hear and I forget; I see and I remember; I do and I understand.’

We invite your school to join a “Cap and Trade” system that is being discussed as part of the next global step to tackle climate change. Through this we hope that your students (and the wider school community) will be better placed to understand the international political developments associated with climate change over the next few years.
