Schools Environmental Projects

Educational value has already been developed by paying schools to offset carbon: the students understand the offsetting mechanism through first hand experience.

lsy_bokashiHowever we seek to extract more value from your offsetting funds. Rather than the funds going into the general school coffers we work with schools to put the money into a separate account that can be used to fund projects that have an educational theme and environmental benefits. For example, we have developed a project that provides local organic food into schools so that students can understand the benefits of reduced emissions from food transport and packing.  Another project uses a Japanese composting method called bokashi composting to help schools convert food waste into compost. This helps to reduce the volume of waste going into landfill as well as the greenhouse gas emissions that rotting food waste causes.  The composted food waste helps to enrich the soil with nutrients and can be used as a natural fertilizer.
